Derelict Sorcerer Starter Guide

Begin like every build: finish Gideon and Percival at Gideon's Camp (logs, fishing, mining, then Pale Leather from bandits). Gideon rewards a Bronze Dagger — keep it until you craft a staff.

At the Den of the Ravenous near Percival, climb the ramp to the watchtower chest for a Soul Amalgam (one-time early drop — choose carefully).

• Oak Staff — 8 Pale Leather, 1 Soul Amalgam, 6 Oak Log (ready sooner)
• Pine Staff — 8 Tough Leather, 1 Soul Amalgam, 6 Pine Log (stronger, needs more grind)

Tough Leather drops from bandits in the Den of the Disillusioned. Pine Logs come from pine trees around Hollow's Pass.

A second Soul Amalgam sits on the spiked wooden gate of the second bandit camp (jump hay bales on the inside). Later, Baron's Tavern quests (Sorcery 21 / Crafting 21) can award another after fighting Asher.

Teleport to Subjugation Stronghold, head east then northeast up the mountain. When you see the Feeding Grounds notification from high ground, you are close. Loot the summit chest for the Crashing Embers scroll, use it from inventory, then equip at a Bonsai under Abilities → Fire.

Equip your staff and farm Hell Snails (and eggs) in the pits at Subjugation Stronghold. From the giant bone structure, jump the western cliff into the pits. Fast respawns make this the best early Sorcery XP route.

Defeat Asher, Storm of Vengeance at Stormbearer's Tower in Weeping Grove. Afterward, speak to Asher as an NPC to enscribe Spell Essence into Ancient Arts Scrolls for Crowns. He also sells some essences. Staff (or tome) required to use spell slots — see the Spells & Builds Guide.
